Lipodissolve Injections, What Are They?

Lipodissolve Injections are a series of injections of medications into the skin that are meant to melt away the localized fat in and around the injection site. This series of injections are less invasive than a surgery like liposuction, however the injections will take longer and melt less fat than going with a liposuction surgery. The medications that are injected into the fat are usually a mixture of phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate, or PCDC) and evolved from drugs that were originally used to treat blood disorders.

Lipodissolve, unlike liposuction, is only for treating small areas of fat since it isn’t invasive and isn’t a surgery. One question that is often asked is whether the injections reduce or shrink the fat stores in the body, or whether they completely get rid of them for good. The chemicals used in the injections kill, or burn/melt, the fat cells, though no one quite knows why at this time, they are permanently gone. Lipodissolve injections are great for treating smaller “problem areas” like bra fat or love handles, and is not recommended for large areas of fat removal.
