PDO Thread Lifting, What Is It?

PDO Thread Lifting is a neck, jaw, and face lifting procedure that uses barbed thread inserted into the face and pulled out to create the lifting of the skin. A tiny entry is made by the patient’s ear and fine threads are advanced along the contours. The threads are PDO, which means polydioxanone, the same material that is used for medical stitches. This thread dissolves naturally in the body over time, and is completely safe when used properly. Once the threads are in place, the body starts to produce collagen around it, this then creates a subtle lift.

Results can vary from person to person because everyone’s body produces collagen differently. For some people, the collagen is produced slower, for others it’s really fast, but either way the end result is a very natural look. Since this process uses the body’s natural processes to create the look, you end up with a rejuvenated and refreshed look without scars and with a recovery time that is far quicker than a traditional face lift. Traditional face lifts are done by creating incisions to the face, jaw and neck, which takes time to heal, with PDO Thread Lifting only one to a few tiny holes are made by the ear.
