A New Age of Ozone Therapy

Did you know that different forms of ozone therapy have been around for over 150 years? It offers a natural way to treat illnesses and diseases and provides pain management as well.  At the American Regenerative Clinic, we take advantage of a few different types of ozone therapies.

There is high-dose ozone, which supplies nearly 50 times the amount of ozone of regular intravenous ozone therapy and can have positive effects on circulation and immunity. It also stimulates the production of new stem cells, activates existing ones, and kills bacteria and viruses. Then there is Prolozone therapy, a regenerative therapy used for any type of joint pain or injury. Prolozone can literally regrow, or make new tissue, giving a joint/muscle/ligament an opportunity to bounce back.

But the newest form of ozone therapy is EBOO which stands for Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation. This unique form of ozone therapy is the most advanced form of ozone treatment available today.

What is EBOO and How Does It Work?

EBOO is a unique form of ozone therapy that heals and detoxifies by stimulating oxygen metabolism, activating the immune system, and eliminating viruses, fungi, bacteria, yeast, and protozoa. It works by essentially mimicking a dialysis machine. Blood is drawn from one vein, and is passed through an EBOO dialysis filter which is designed to clean blood from the debris of destroyed germs, heavy metals, fungus, etc. Then, it is ozonated in stages and reintroduced into the body through another vein. The entire procedure takes place within a closed system to eliminate any possibility of contamination. An EBOO treatment typically takes 1 hour and approximately 1.8 to 3 liters of blood is filtered per treatment.

But how does ozone reinfuse the body with the energy needed to fight disease and illness? Ozone can increase tissue oxygenation by infusing the mitochondria with oxygen, resulting in increased energy! Ozone also enhances blood flow, which relieves pain and inflammation.

Is Ozone Therapy and EBOO Safe?

Ozone therapies in general have been proven to be very safe. The treatment is minimally invasive and there are no discernable side effects. As with all American Regenerative Clinic procedures, the patient’s full history is taken into account as well as the patient’s wants and needs. At the core of regenerative medicine is a functional medicine approach. Functional medicine involves looking at each patient holistically and taking a systems-oriented approach which allows practitioners and patients to collaborate on addressing the underlying causes of their disease, ailments, or symptoms.

We also suggest that those patients who have been diagnosed with certain conditions speak to their doctor before proceeding with the medical use of ozone, to ensure it fits well into their overall treatment plan. We recommend that patients coming in for the EBOO procedure eat beforehand and increase their water intake as well.

Who Can Benefit Most from EBOO?

As mentioned earlier, EBOO can be used as part of an overall treatment plan to treat many different chronic illnesses, diseases, and disorders.

A few that have benefited most are cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Lyme disease, chronic hepatitis, herpes, chronic fatigue syndrome, chemical sensitivity, macular degeneration, chronic bladder conditions, colitis, autoimmune diseases, and Crohn’s disease.

The number of treatment sessions required and the ozone dosage administered depends on overall health, age, and of course, the condition you are suffering from. All of this will be uncovered and decided upon during the consultation portion of your visits prior to any treatments, as the team puts together your individualized plan. Treatments are typically administered once a week, with patients usually noticing improvement in symptoms between the second and fourth sessions. Full antioxidant defense mechanisms are activated by the fourth treatment. The cycle can then be repeated every 3-4 months as needed, depending on your healthcare provider’s recommendations.

If you suffer from any of the above conditions or are curious about the effect of EBOO on your condition, please contact the American Regenerative Clinic to find out if EBOO is right for you. Call us to book an appointment today!
