Stem Cell Therapy – Will It Help Me?

Stem Cell Therapy – Will it Help Me?

Stem cells are unique as they are the only cells in the body that are able to renew and specialize to repair damaged cells. Stem cells have the ability to become specialized cells providing a specific function in areas of the body that are in need of repair. Stem cell therapy has been successful in the repair of blood cells, brain cells, nerve cells, heart muscle cells and bone cells.

Along with regeneration, stem cells are anti-inflammatory which helps the body’s own healing process. Reducing inflammation goes a long way in relieving joint pain to increase ease of motion.

What is Stem Cell Therapy?

stem cell therapyStem cell therapy is a procedure that can be performed within a few hours. It is the process of moving healthy stem cells from one part of the body (typically fat tissue or bone marrow) to another part of the body where damaged or diseased cells are found. After the stem cells have been harvested under local anesthesia, they will be processed for the patient’s specific needs and transplanted immediately into the damaged or diseased area. Cells are typically transplanted through injections into the joint or through IV. Once transplanted, the healing process begins.

Is Stem Cell Therapy effective?

Knowing that stem cells have the ability to take on specific functionality, healthy stem cells can be used to replace or repair diseased or damaged cells in the body. Stem cell therapy is the most effective way to naturally heal damaged cells. Many types of illnesses benefit from this therapy including spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders and disease, autoimmune disease, cancer, arthritis and heart damage or disease. For patients undergoing stem cell therapy at American Regeneration Clinic, we strongly recommend stem cell banking. Stem Cell banking is the removal and storage of additional stem cells to be used, if necessary, at a later date. Often one treatment of stem cell therapy is sufficient, however, stem cell banking ensures you are able to repeat the procedure using banked stem cells, should a second treatment be required.
