Ways to Reduce Joint Pain Naturally

Sore or stiff joints ranging in severity can be a nuisance,  or they can be a debilitating problem that prevents you from living your life to the fullest. If you have tried other conventional medical treatments to resolve joint pain with no success, surgery may be an option. However, if you would prefer to avoid surgery or are not a candidate for it, there are regenerative medicine therapies that have offered relief to many. Pain in your knees, hips, elbows shoulders, can be reduced or eliminated with these procedures. Regenerative medicine offers ways to stimulate the body’s healing process without the need for surgery or drugs.

Platelet-Rich Injections (PRP)

PRP injections involve taking a sample of the patient’s blood and isolating the platelets and plasma – a component of blood that secretes growth factors that promote cell regeneration and speed up healing. The platelet-rich plasma is then reinjected into the painful joint. PRP injections have been particularly useful in treating patients with osteoarthritis.

Prolozone Therapy

Prolozone therapy uses a two-stage procedure in which a nutrient solution is introduced to the affected area, followed by ozone, to help kick-start the body’s healing powers. Nutrients, including vitamins and minerals, are injected into the injured joint. While these factors are needed to support healing, they are boosted by a subsequent injection of ozone-enriched blood. To achieve this, blood is drawn from the patient and infused with ozone at a suitable concentration. The blood is reinjected into the joint, where it enhances the effect of the nutrient shot to encourage cell growth and healing deep within the joint.

Prolotherapy

Another effective regenerative medicine technique to reduce joint pain is called prolotherapy. It does not require blood or stem cells from the patient. Instead, prolotherapy takes advantage of the body’s immune response. A safe solution of a natural substance (often glucose) is injected into the area. In healthy individuals, this is enough to trigger an immune response flooding the area with T-cells and other growth factors to effect healing.

Stem Cell Therapy

Stem cells, which have the unique ability to develop into specialized cells, have become very popular in treating tissue damage and joint pain. In the presence of deteriorated cartilage and ligaments in joints, stem cells injected into your joint can transform and regenerate the tissues. Stem cell therapy has been shown to have lasting effects, even years after treatment.

Regenerative medicine offers several options for people experiencing joint pain to find relief when other methods have failed or are not available. The body has a remarkable capacity to heal itself, and regenerative medicine seeks to use this capacity to help people overcome pain and get their lives back.
